OLD WORLD CHARM
An Historic Mediterranean-Style Home in the Cannon Hill Park Neighborhood revitalized. We deepened the trim to highlight the stunning arched windows and one of our favorite doors ever. This home has been featured in Architectural Digest and was the childhood home of Opera Star Patrice Munsel. Honored to have worked on this beautiful home!
MID-CENTURY BRICK RANCHER
A quintessential sprawling brick rancher near Comstock Park and the perfect home to color it white! The black windows and door pop against the lighter brick exterior. A fabulous home in a park setting.
With our clients love of the All American "red, white and blue" we brought that to this home's exterior. A beautifully well-kept home that now makes a statement with the darker exterior and soft-white trim. We kept the original brick on the tapered columns to compliment the new blue exterior. The pop of color in the door and amazing landscaping finished off the details.
MEDITERRANEAN STYLE HOME
A beauty to begin with, and truly elegant after! Choosing a warm white (custom color) on the stucco to brighten the home overall. Softening the trim color allowed the gorgeous tiled roof to top off the palette. Intricate Spanish inspired tiles now line the front stoop.
BEAUTY ON THE BLUFF
Our vision for this remarkable home was to find a deeper tone for the body so the stone and landscaping would speak for itself. A timeless and unique look for this modern home with a colonial flare.
MANITO BRICK TUDOR
A charming home to begin with. We deepened the contrast to accent the beautiful brick and tudor detail. The nicely landscaped yard adds to the home's curb appeal.
HIGH DRIVE STUNNER
The amazing architectural details on this mid-century home needed to speak for themselves. We simplified the color palette and made the entry a focal point. The front windows pop against the body color and the black accents update the overall look. (New front door coming soon).
A brighter updated look. We went with a natural wood stained door which adds warmth and coordinates nicely with the color chosen for the painted brick accents. New house numbers and exterior lighting are the final details to compete the new look for this home.
Taking this 1925 Original Audubon Park Home to a deep vivid blue was a fun project! The slightly sharper white trim tops it off perfectly and accents the beautiful dark windows and red brick stoop.
This 1954 Rancher in Comstock has the perfect architecture for a bold front door and accented entry. The lines of the one were perfect for color blocking. One neighbor said, "It used to be the ugliest house on the block, and now it is the prettiest house on the block".
This style of home allowed us to have fun with color and our client was excited to be adventurous. The yellow door and upper chairs are a ray of sunshine!
Softening the color and unifying the home by painting the brick and body the same color resulted in a modern, clean look the client was searching for. This also allowed the owner's original metal work to stand out. Removing the dated ornate posts and replacing the front door in a natural wood opened up the entry dramatically!
We chose a darker, richer color to contrast the natural pops of colors in the ledger stone. This color also compliments the cedar accents nicely and the beautiful wood door.
A SUBTLE CHANGE
The owners of this house just wanted a slight change to their exterior. We instantly focused on the black accents on the house and simply recommended painting the garage doors and updating the light fixtures.
Often a darker color on a home can be the dramatic difference it needs. At times we opt to paint brick, but for this home striking a balance of color and material was the look the client wanted and we helped create.
We also do commercial buildings, exterior and interior spaces. Often a pop of color or changing the overall tone of the building is all it takes. Quick and a happy client! Are you wondering what your building would look like? Contact us for a consultation and a rendering with our ideas.

Feminine and Functional
We dressed up this space with feminine and sophisticated decor. The graphic wallpaper envelops the space and adding natural elements with the furnishings and beaded chandelier added grounding. Now a favorite place to work or cozy up and read a book in her home!
Clean and Bright
We assisted our client in completely updating and resurfacing their kitchen, without major construction. New countertops, painted cabinets, hardware and a new hood, opening up the site lights to the open floor plan. Increasing the function and overall beauty of the space.
KENDALL YARDS OFFICE
Sophisticated and Inviting
At this upscale modern space, we starting with a blank slate to assist in the build out of this new office space. The wonderful mix of lines and curves is now layered into this space’s architecture. The exposed beams give an industrial vibe, yet the feature wall and custom desks and tables create warmth.
Chic, colorful yet cozy.
Creating a nook allows you to separate spaces in a great room. Perfect for coffee and a book, a game of chess or wine with friends. Colorful and cozy!
In this classic home, high contrast was needed to make the detailed wood work pop. The masculinity of this space is balanced by a more feminine chandelier. We wanted to create a space where the client's original artwork would be the focal point, and also create a modern look.
Fun and Colorful
Having fun with color and wall design. The blue and white stripes in this young boy's room adds an element of playfulness, as wells as enlarging the space. Stripes on the rug on a smaller scale ground the space, and complimentary colors finish off the room with furniture and toys!
Happy and Bright
Fun, yet comfortable spot for this young boy. We layered bright yellow with a soft gray and grounded it with black accents, including his sweet dog!
Time to Relax
Create a calm and relaxing place for your guests, or yourself. We combined a soft palette of colors to do just that. Painting furniture is a great way to add color and the all white bedding makes the turquoise sleigh bed a focal point.
Restful and Cozy
Taking this bedroom to a dark overall color on the walls and ceiling gave our client the cozy and calm feeling she was looking for. Adding in texture with the lighting, window treatments and bedding and also keeping an eclectic nature to the room, mixing furniture both old and new.
POP OF COLOR
Dare to be Bold
Reflecting on the year of their house and their love of mid-century pieces, we went with an orange ceramic tile backsplash. Gives an instant wow factor walking into the space and a true focal point. (Project in progress).
What inspires you?
In this modern mono-chromatic space, we added color through art. Personalizing the space with photos from San Diego, CA, a favorite spot and former home.

REAL LIFE REVIEWS
The Word on the Street
Jana and Cathy were amazing! They helped us pick our exterior paint color combination and I could not have been more pleased! They were prepared at our initial meeting with several ideas and a graphic layout illustrating their ideas with real life examples. After selecting my colors, I was unsure about the exact tone of the base coat, so they used their incredible expertise to cut the color and add a little bit of another color...so, the end result was a perfect custom color- which they so amazingly tailored to make it exactly the way I wanted it to be!! So impressive!! They also recommended smaller details (tiles steps, front door color, flowerpots, etc) that I otherwise would not have considered, but absolutely love the ideas.
I highly recommend Hue Color and Decor - they are personable, knowledgeable, detailed, and super fun to work with!

What an amazing business for help with color, carpet, flooring and all things involved when updating your home. I was so fortunate to find Cathy and Jana when I needed some help and suggestions for paint colors and carpet selection. I loved everything they suggested and they had amazing ideas! They are talented, reasonably priced, friendly and a joy to work with. They are very efficient and get things done in a timely manner. I love the final results and I might add that the painting company recommended, Pavilion Paint was amazing. They start early, work all day, and finished on schedule. Again, reasonably priced with beautiful results . I would recommend both HUE color & decor and Pavillion Painting without reservation for your next project!
Dear Jana and Cathy/HUE color & decor
Just a note of gratitude for your assistance in helping my Buyer select an era-appropriate exterior paint color for their "forever" home! The sprawling rancher, built in 1954 in the Comstock Park area on Spokane's South Hill (homes above $500K) posed a challenge to the owners in making a color decision. Your flexibility in coordinating your consultation visits to meet their busy schedule was also appreciated! I will recommend your services to other real estate clients who want to "re-envision" their homes.

Cathy was recommended by our contractor to help choose a new color for our house. After talking with her for just a short time, she knew exactly what I was looking for! Her passion and enthusiasm for what she does is clearly evident. Cathy does her job with integrity, respect, and professionalism. What I appreciate most is that she listens to what you were looking for but incorporates design, texture, and style when choosing “color. She gets my highest recommendation!
We @Smart Fiinishes, have been working with Cathy for nearly 25 years. Her keen sense of color, style, and design, as well as her knowledge, of all that is paint, have proven invaluable on many projects we have worked on together over the years. We will, without reservation, recommend Hue to our friends, colleagues, and clients moving forward. Good luck and much success in this new venture from all of us at Smart Finishes!!! 5 STARS!!!
